This course aims at preparing candidate who are deficient in areas of great need in which candidates through JAMB are very difficult to get. Pre NCE candidates are usually not qualified for direct admission. Successful students at the end of Pre-NCE course are absorbed into the NCE program for which have been trained.
GOAL OF THE PRE-NCE
The goal of the preliminary NCE program is to produce qualified candidates for admission into the standard NCE programs in the areas of Science, Vocational and Technical Education, Nigerian languages, French, English and any other field as necessity may warrant.
OBJECTIVES:
Generally, the Pre-NCE Programs is aimed at upgrading the entry qualification of the holders of WASC/GCE (O/L) SSCE or the NABTEB Federal Craft. Certificate with passes in at least four subjects or the TC II with relevant credits in their proposed subject combinations in the standard NCE program specifically, the students will at the end of the program:
Demonstrate acceptable proficiency comparable to ordinary level standard in the minimum number of core subject study.
Satisfy both internal assessors and external moderation in continuous assessment and terminal examination theoretical and practical studies.
Show proven interest to benefit from teacher education and accept teaching as a career.

REMEDIAL STUDIES PROGRAM
The college also has a Directorate of Remedial Studies where secondary school leavers are prepared towards rewriting their ‘O’ Level WASC/NECO/NABTEB to qualify them for admission into tertiary institution of their choice.
