The College

A. the College has a large body of students who come from varied backgrounds. It would be difficult to operate smoothly without some rules and regulations to guide their behavior. Law and order must be maintained to create a conducive atmosphere for academic success and progress. It is College’s responsibility not only to educate students academically, but also to guide their personal development into useful citizens. Knowledge has meaning only if it enables the possessor to live a fuller life. This must include behaving responsibly to self and to the society.

B. students are expected to take part in the College programmes or activities, which in the ends should enable them to:

i. broaden their interests and goals.
ii. Develop individual’s talents in working with others.
iii. Practice skills in organizing and administering group functions.
iv. Learn socially acceptable behavior through observing the rules while interacting with others.
v. Experience success and earn recognition from others.
vi. Develop self discipline and being responsible in planning and carrying out activities.

C. Every student of the College is required to maintain a high standard of personal discipline in:

I. Conducting himself/herself in an orderly manner and displaying a high sense of responsibility both within and outside the school premises.
ii. Maintaining personal cleanliness and be in a proper dress at all times.
iii. Co-operating with other students and staff to keep walls, grounds and the general College premises clean, and not to litter the premises with pieces of paper, cans, etc; and 
iv. Being responsible for cleaning his/her own living room.

D. Although the legitimate expression of differing opinions and beliefs is an essential part of the life of the Academic Community, the right to disagree is guaranteed and the College shall not tolerate imposition of beliefs by one group of students upon others who dissent.

E. It is emphasized that all members of the College Community and the students are like other citizens subject to the laws of our country, while the law takes its courses, the College shall deem it fit to take interim disciplinary action on erring students pending the final determination of the law. Students are expected to learn to cope with their problems intelligently, reasonable and with some sense of understanding as well as consideration for the rights of others.

F. Each member of the College community should recognize that, as he/she prizes rights and freedom for himself/herself so is he/she expected to respect the rights and freedom of others, be it in lecture halls or in the hostels.

G. Students are to respect the privacy and comfort of their fellow students and should not smoke in classrooms, dining halls, laboratories, libraries theatres or the Assembly halls and must not write to members of staff and College guests. As in the traditional Nigeria custom, and are to treat their colleagues with decorum.

H. The College shall, upon evidence of a student failure to abide by its rules, regulations and code of conduct, take appropriate disciplinary measures against the offender, where a serious act of misconduct and/or indiscipline is involve, the matter shall be referred to the disciplinary committee for appropriate actions.

I. Fighting is prohibited and attracts very severe disciplinary measures.

J. Assault is prohibited. Any student who assaults another, aid or abets another to assault other students for testifying at disciplinary committee or otherwise shall on conviction be liable to suspension.

K. Gambling and stealing are prohibited on the College Premises.

L. No student shall tamper with the mail, postal or money orders, slips or parcels that do not belong to him/her.
